Achieving sustainability
The continued financial support of the activities outlined in this action, particularly to enable the conversion of research training secondments into PhDs, is one of the major objectives of the action and will be the matter of considerable investigation and discussion over the 36-month period of the action. The importance of this objective is emphasised by its prioritisation as the major theme of the very first workshop of the action. The University of Manchester, through its research activities in Cambodia over the past 5 years, has already developed Memoranda of Understanding and/or formal or informal links with a number of government and non-government organisations within Cambodia as well as with multi-national agencies: these and other agencies provide the starting point for us to investigate further funding support.
