After graduating from RUPP in 1995, Visoth undertook extensive further academic training, while working, teaching and conducting research.  His experience covers a wide area, including demonstrating and lecturing at a number of international universities, such as the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Warwick and Norton, working as a product manager and sales executive, commercial market research and analysis, and voluntary work.  He also has first-hand experience of other international initiatives, having worked on an IFS-funded project looking into the sustainable treatment of sewage in Phnom Penh’s wetlands, and another Asia-Link project – CITYBLUES – focusing on the practical implementation of ecological and engineering principles in integrated storm water management.

Visoth is currently completing his PhD work at the University of Warwick on the ‘Hydraulic retention time of a pond with different vegetations and discharges’ and working on the European Commission Asia-Link CALIBRE Project at the University of Manchester.  He hopes to continue his research after his PhD, developing further models and tools for different water and wastewater treatment and river systems.
